Dubai’s innovative floating smart police station is set to become operational by the end of 2026, a senior Dubai Police official announced. This cutting-edge facility is part of a Dh2 billion strategic project designed to enhance smart services and accessibility across the emirate, particularly in the World Islands area.
With 27 primary services related to criminal and traffic matters and 33 subsidiary services, it aims to provide seamless access to essential police functions for island residents and sea-goers.
The floating station is the first of its kind in the region, reflecting Dubai’s commitment to innovation and smart technology. It supports Dubai Police’s strategy to ensure smart services are available throughout the emirate, including marine-focused areas like the World Islands.
Lieutenant Colonel Faisal Al Tamimi, Director of Asset and Facilities Management at Dubai Police, highlighted that this floating station represents the fourth generation of smart police stations in Dubai, following:
The floating police station will feature a modern, yacht-inspired design, ensuring easy access for boarding and disembarking. The station’s architecture aligns with Dubai’s maritime lifestyle, blending functionality with contemporary aesthetics.
Leveraging artificial intelligence and robotics, the station aims to reduce reliance on traditional service centres by offering efficient, technology-enabled solutions. This aligns with Dubai’s broader vision of enhancing operational efficiency through smart city initiatives.
The floating smart police station was officially launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, further cementing Dubai’s reputation as a global hub for innovation and smart solutions.
This visionary project represents another milestone in Dubai’s journey towards becoming the world’s smartest and safest city.
