Dubai Introduces Premium Parking Fees: New Tariffs to Take Effect in March 2025
Dubai’s Parkin PJSC has announced the implementation of premium parking charges starting March 2025, aiming to enhance parking management across the emirate’s busiest areas.
Premium Parking Tariffs and Hours
From March 2025, premium parking fees will be set at Dh6 per hour during peak hours (8:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM). Standard public parking will remain at Dh4 per hour during peak periods, while off-peak tariffs will remain unchanged.
Strategically Located Premium Parking Zones
Premium parking spaces will be designated near high-demand areas, including:
- Metro and bus stations (within 500 meters)
- Business hubs like Downtown Dubai and Business Bay
- Commercial areas such as Deira, Bur Dubai, Jumeirah, and Al Wasl Road
- Major shopping destinations and markets
These zones will be clearly marked with signage displaying the applicable tariffs. Additional information will be accessible through the Parkin website, mobile app, and social media channels.
Dynamic Congestion Pricing for Major Events
In response to growing traffic during large-scale events, a congestion pricing policy will be introduced. Starting February 2025, parking fees near the Dubai World Trade Centre during events will be Dh25 per hour. Event-specific parking zones will be activated and clearly marked, with details available online.
Flexible Tariff System
The new tariff system aims to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion:
- Peak hours: Dh6 per hour for premium spaces
- Off-peak hours: Regular tariffs apply
- Free parking: Overnight from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM, Sundays, and public holidays
Phased Implementation
Parkin will implement the changes in two phases:
- February 2025: Event-specific tariffs around major venues
- March 2025: Full rollout of premium and peak-hour tariffs
Parkin’s Role in Dubai’s Parking Evolution
Established in December 2023, Parkin holds a 49-year concession with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), managing over 200,000 paid parking spaces across the emirate. In the first nine months of 2024, Parkin recorded 95 million parking transactions and reported a 5% increase in net profit, reaching Dh104.7 million compared to Dh99.8 million in Q3 2023.
This new parking strategy aligns with Dubai’s vision of improving urban mobility and enhancing the city’s transport infrastructure, making it easier for residents and visitors to navigate the bustling metropolis.
