Dubai YouTube Controversy: Comedian Samay Raina Responds to ‘India’s Got Latent’ Backlash

Dubai, UAE – Popular comedian Samay Raina has broken his silence regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding his YouTube show, India’s Got Latent.

In an Instagram Story, Raina announced that he has removed all videos related to the show from his channel and is “fully cooperating” with the authorities. He emphasized that his sole intention was to entertain his audience.

“Everything that has been happening has been overwhelming. I have taken down all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My only goal was to make people laugh and create a fun environment. I will fully cooperate with all concerned authorities to ensure a fair resolution. Thank you,” Raina stated.

The controversy erupted after a remark by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia in a recent episode sparked public outrage. The backlash led to a formal complaint against Allahbadia, social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, comedian Samay Raina, and the show’s organizers.

In response, Allahbadia issued a public apology, acknowledging that his comments were “inappropriate” and that he “had a lapse in judgment.”

“My comment wasn’t just inappropriate—it wasn’t even funny. Comedy isn’t my expertise, and I am here to sincerely apologize,” he stated in a video posted on his X account.

He further addressed concerns about his influence on young audiences, acknowledging his responsibility. “The podcast reaches viewers of all ages, and I don’t take that lightly. Family is the last thing I would ever disrespect. This experience has taught me the importance of using my platform more responsibly,” he added.

Dubai has become a hub for influencers, content creators, and digital entrepreneurs, with YouTube playing a significant role in shaping online discussions. As the controversy unfolds, the incident serves as a reminder of the power and responsibility that come with social media influence in today’s digital landscape.
