The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will feature a $6.9 million prize pool, marking a 53% increase from 2017, when Pakistan won the title at The Oval.
The tournament will begin on February 19 in Karachi, where Pakistan will face New Zealand. However, India’s matches will be played in Dubai as the team is not permitted to travel to Pakistan.
If India qualifies for the semi-finals, the match will also be played in Dubai on March 4.
This is the first ICC tournament hosted in Pakistan since the 1996 Cricket World Cup. While most matches will take place in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, Dubai will host all of India’s matches.
ICC Chairman Jay Shah emphasized the tournament’s significance, stating that beyond the financial rewards, the Champions Trophy plays a key role in growing international cricket and engaging fans worldwide.
The Champions Trophy will continue as an eight-team event held every four years, and the first Women’s Champions Trophy is scheduled for 2027 in the T20 format.
With Dubai playing a central role in the Champions Trophy 2025, the city is set to host some of the tournament’s most high-profile matches. Stay updated with the latest Champions Trophy news, Dubai cricket updates, and match schedules.
