With the last 10 nights of Ramadan bringing a surge of worshippers to mosques across Dubai and Sharjah, Dubai Police have issued a warning to motorists: Follow traffic rules and avoid illegal parking near mosques during Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers.
Traffic Violations & Fines in Dubai
Authorities have highlighted common parking violations that cause congestion and roadblocks, including: Double parking – Blocks other vehicles
Parking on sidewalks – Obstructs pedestrians
Blocking intersections & traffic lanes – Causes delays in busy areas
Motorists caught violating parking rules in Dubai will face fines of: Dh500 – For illegal parking & double parking
Dh400 – For obstructing pedestrian movement
These issues are particularly disruptive in residential areas and along major roads in Dubai and Sharjah, making it difficult for both worshippers and other commuters.
Increased Traffic Patrols & Strict Enforcement
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of Dubai Police’s Traffic Department, stated that officers will work with the General Department of Protective Security and Emergency to manage congestion and secure prayer areas.
Traffic patrols will be intensified, strategically positioned around mosques to ensure:
Smooth entry & exit for worshippers
Traffic flow management
Redirection of vehicles if needed
Dubai Police urge residents to cooperate with authorities and be considerate of fellow motorists and pedestrians to ensure a safe and organized environment during Ramadan’s final nights.
