Oscar-winning actor Cillian Murphy has reprised his iconic role as Tommy Shelby in the upcoming *Peaky Blinders* film, according to *The Hollywood Reporter*. This Birmingham gangster drama, created by Steven Knight, has captivated audiences worldwide, including in Dubai. The highly anticipated feature-length film, directed by Tom Harper, is set a few years after the series finale and is now officially in production, as announced by Netflix.
Following the success of the six-season series, which starred Murphy, Paul Anderson, Helen McCrory, Tom Hardy, and Joe Cole, the film promises to bring more of the same thrilling action. Dubai fans will be pleased to know that Saltburn’s Barry Keoghan and *Dune*’s Rebecca Ferguson are confirmed to join the cast.
The familiar phrase, “By order of the Peaky Blinders,” heralds the return of Tommy Shelby, with Murphy and Knight reuniting on set. As production kicks off, the announcement has already sparked excitement among Dubai’s streaming audience and beyond.
Murphy stated, “This one is for the fans,” hinting at the emotional journey awaiting viewers. The series concluded with its sixth season in 2022, shortly before Murphy’s award-winning performance in Christopher Nolan’s *Oppenheimer*, which earned him an Academy Award.
In addition to *Peaky Blinders*, Murphy’s latest project, *Small Things Like These*, sheds light on Ireland’s church-run workhouses for unwed mothers. This film is set to release in the UK on November 1 and in the US on November 8, and could also make its way to Dubai screens.
