Working in cloud or co-working kitchens across Dubai can significantly reduce operational costs while fostering innovation among budding culinary entrepreneurs and chefs. Additionally, this model guarantees fresh, fast food for the city’s dynamic customer base.
As Dubai’s culinary scene evolves, cloud kitchens are reshaping the future of dining by offering unique advantages that traditional restaurants often struggle to match. These kitchens enable cost savings while meeting the growing demand for quick, high-quality food delivery services across the UAE.
Chef JR Nueda, a former 5-star restaurant chef, has embraced the cloud kitchen concept with his innovative dessert creation—nugget ice cream. “It looks like a chicken nugget from the outside, but when you take a bite, it’s ice cream,” Nueda shared. Operating under the brand name Torchify, Nueda leverages Dubai’s food delivery apps to offer his dessert with the convenience of fast delivery. “For us, a cloud kitchen is an excellent option as it provides all the essential equipment, space, and facilities,” he said.
This setup not only helps him cut down on the high operational costs of running a traditional restaurant in Dubai but also ensures his unique dessert reaches customers within 15 minutes of ordering. His previous experience working in luxury hotels enables him to maintain exceptional quality and standards.
Similarly, Chef Chris Cruz, who works at Kape @ Kakanin, has adopted the cloud kitchen model to expand their business in Dubai. With retail outlets in Satwa and Muraqqabat, which specialize in traditional Filipino cuisine, the restaurant uses cloud kitchens to streamline ingredient preparation and bulk orders without compromising on quality. Their cloud kitchen, located in Al Quoz, allows them to scale operations while preserving the authenticity of their dishes.
Chef Cruz, along with Chef Merald Macalindong, has successfully integrated the cloud kitchen model into their business, ensuring that food is prepared efficiently and delivered fresh to customers across Dubai.
Another example is Smacko, a Dubai-based homegrown brand that specializes in mac and cheese. Operating from The Co Kitchen in Al Quoz, Smacko is steadily capturing the rising demand for online food delivery in Dubai. Chef Fred Kawuli highlighted the benefits of the cloud kitchen model, saying, “Our online business is growing rapidly as more people in Dubai prefer the convenience of food delivery. Co-working kitchens offer an attractive solution for culinary entrepreneurs who want to minimize overhead costs while reaching a larger audience.”
By leveraging Dubai’s cloud kitchen spaces, these chefs and brands are transforming the culinary landscape, offering innovative solutions to meet the city’s fast-paced lifestyle and growing preference for home-delivered food.
