Dubai Bakeries Experience Surge in Demand Ahead of UAE National Day
As UAE National Day approaches, Dubai’s bakeries and dessert parlours are experiencing a surge in orders, with residents and businesses indulging in festive treats ranging from National Day-themed cakes to macaron towers.
Record Sales Across Dubai Bakeries
Bake Al Arab, located in Al Warqaa, has seen exceptional demand, recording daily sales exceeding Dh30,000 from both custom and walk-in orders. “Corporate orders have been our biggest revenue driver,” said Rashad TP, senior sales staff. “Last week, we fulfilled a Dh5,000 custom cake order for a corporate event—measuring over 1.5 meters and loaded with fresh fruits and cream.” With a packed calendar, Bake Al Arab is already booked solid for the upcoming week.
Mister Baker’s Iconic 53kg National Day Cake
Celebrating the UAE’s 53rd National Day, Mister Baker has launched a 53kg cake priced at Dh23,000, available for pre-order. “National Day is always a busy time for us,” said Tushar Fotedar, director of Mister Baker. “We’ve built long-standing relationships with families across Dubai, and this year, we’ve delivered a diverse range of cakes in various weights and styles.” Last year, Mister Baker crafted two massive 100kg cakes for a corporate client, divided into four 50kg sections, costing Dh7,875.
Trending Flavours and Unique Designs
Dubai residents are gravitating towards innovative flavours this season. According to Khadija Hussain, owner and head baker at KK Cakkes, the Pistachio Kunafa is a standout hit. “Our Pistachio Kunafa brownies and fat cookies are in high demand. We’ve also introduced new flavours for macarons, saffron milk cakes, and bento cakes, especially for intimate gatherings.”
Memorable Creations
For many, National Day is synonymous with elaborate cake designs. Khadija fondly recalled creating a three-tiered cake adorned with edible flowers in the UAE national flag’s colours for the 50th National Day. “It was an honour to be part of such a memorable celebration,” she said.
With Dubai’s bakeries pulling out all the stops, this year’s UAE National Day celebrations promise to be sweeter than ever, reflecting the city’s growing appetite for unique and extravagant desserts.
