Dubai’s RTA Introduces 50% Discount for Students on Public Transport
If you’re a student in Dubai, here’s some exciting news for your daily commute! Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced the nol Student Package, offering a 50% discount on public transport fares across the city. Whether you’re taking the metro, bus, or tram, this new initiative is set to make commuting more affordable for students in Dubai.
Exclusive Discounts on Local and International Brands
Beyond public transport, students can also enjoy discounts of up to 70% on a variety of local and international brands, both within the UAE and abroad. This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on students, providing access to discounted products and services across Dubai’s shopping hubs.
Nol Card as a Versatile Payment Method
The nol card offers more than just discounted transport fares. It can also be used as a payment method at participating retail stores across the UAE, making it a versatile tool for daily transactions. Students can conveniently apply for the nol card through the nol Pay app, with the card delivered directly to their specified address.
Introducing the Nol Student Package at GITEX Global 2024
The nol Student Package was unveiled by the RTA at the prestigious GITEX Global 2024, held from October 14 to 18, further highlighting Dubai’s commitment to leveraging technology to benefit its residents. This package was developed in collaboration with the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) Association, making it a globally recognized student service.
New Features for Parents and Students
Later this year, the updated nol Student Card will introduce new features, allowing parents to manage their children’s accounts more efficiently. This includes the ability to top up balances, monitor daily spending, and control the overall use of the card, providing peace of mind for parents with school-going children.
A Collaborative Launch for Student Benefits in Dubai
The nol Student Package follows an agreement signed between the RTA and the International Student Identity Card Association in February 2024, during the Middle East and North Africa Transport Congress and Exhibition. This partnership is part of RTA’s ongoing efforts to enhance student services and create a smarter, more connected public transport system in Dubai.
