**New Dubai Harbour Bridge to Slash Travel Time to Sheikh Zayed Road**
In a major boost to Dubai’s transport infrastructure, a new bridge linking **Dubai Harbour** to **Sheikh Zayed Road** will cut travel time from 12 minutes to just 3 minutes. Announced on Sunday, the **Dh431-million Dubai Harbour Bridge** will feature two lanes in each direction, providing a seamless and efficient connection from the Dubai Harbour waterfront community to one of Dubai’s busiest highways.
The **Roads and Transport Authority (RTA)** has awarded the construction contract for this 1.5-kilometer bridge, which will accommodate up to 6,000 vehicles per hour in both directions. This enhanced capacity will significantly reduce congestion and improve travel for residents and visitors alike.
Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, shared that the bridge will provide a **direct access route** for Dubai Harbour, simplifying the commute for thousands of people. Extending from the 5th intersection on Sheikh Zayed Road near the **American University in Dubai**, the bridge will connect to **Dubai Harbour Street** via Al Naseem Street and Al Falak Street, crossing over King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street.
This infrastructure upgrade is part of Dubai’s ongoing commitment to **improving urban mobility** and enhancing connectivity across the city, especially in bustling waterfront and residential hubs like **Dubai Harbour**. With reduced travel time and improved traffic flow, this new bridge promises to be a game-changer for Dubai’s commuters and an asset to the city’s world-class transportation network.
