Dubai: Mashreq Metro station to now be renamed as InsuranceMarket

Mashreq Metro Station has officially been renamed Insurance Market Metro Station, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Thursday. This station, situated on Dubai’s Red Line between Mall of The Emirates and Dubai Internet City, enjoys a prime location along Sheikh Zayed Road.

As part of the rebranding process, the RTA has already updated outdoor signage and will soon be making changes to smart and electronic systems throughout the public transport network. This includes updating the audio announcements on metro trains during the transition period from September to November.

### Strengthening Private Sector Collaboration

Abdul Mohsen Ibrahim Kalbat, CEO of RTA’s Rail Agency, emphasized that awarding metro station naming rights to companies is a key aspect of “successful partnerships with the private sector to drive economic growth” in Dubai.

Kalbat noted, “The partnership with InsuranceMarket.ae exemplifies a successful public-private collaboration, creating job opportunities and supporting RTA’s projects. It also aligns with Dubai’s goal of encouraging the private sector to contribute to government initiatives.”

### A Platform for Brand Visibility

Kalbat further highlighted that Dubai offers an ideal platform for major businesses to promote their brands. “Dubai Metro stations provide unique advertising opportunities for companies to market their products, services, and solutions across various sectors. This platform helps enhance global competitiveness, enabling businesses to grow in Dubai and the UAE, and expand internationally.”

The practice of metro station naming rights in Dubai has been in place since 2009. In January 2023, Al Safa Metro Station was rebranded as Onpassive Metro Station, with the agreement valid for 10 years. Similarly, Dubai Marina Metro Station became Sobha Realty Metro Station in 2021, while Al Jaffliya Station was renamed ‘Max Fashion,’ and Al Rashdiya Station became ‘Centrepoint.’

Several stations on the Red Line have been named after well-known corporate entities, both local and international, including Emirates Airlines, GGICO, and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (previously Al Karama).

### A Significant Milestone for InsuranceMarket.ae

Avinash Babur, founder & CEO of InsuranceMarket.ae, expressed his gratitude for this significant achievement, remarking that having one of Dubai’s iconic metro stations named after InsuranceMarket is a major milestone. He added that he looks forward to the positive impact this partnership will have on both residents and visitors in Dubai.
