Iran has denied allegations of involvement in the murder of Israeli citizen Zvi Kogan in the United Arab Emirates, according to a statement issued by Iran’s embassy in Abu Dhabi to Reuters on Sunday.
The Iranian embassy in Dubai firmly stated it “categorically rejects the allegations of Iran’s involvement in the murder of this individual.” The denial follows the UAE’s confirmation of the arrest of three suspects linked to the crime.
Kogan, who also held Moldovan citizenship, was reported missing by his family on November 21. The UAE authorities launched an investigation, during which Kogan’s body was discovered, and the suspects were identified. Legal proceedings are now underway against those arrested, officials confirmed.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned Kogan’s murder, describing it as a “heinous” act.
The UAE reiterated its commitment to maintaining societal stability, emphasizing that it would employ “all legal powers to respond decisively and without leniency to any actions or attempts that threaten peace and security within the country.”
