Israeli Airstrike in Sidon Kills Senior Hamas Commander Amid Rising Tensions

In a significant escalation of the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Friday that it conducted a pre-dawn airstrike targeting the Lebanese port city of Sidon, resulting in the death of a senior Hamas commander.

According to a joint statement by the IDF and Israel’s internal security agency, Shin Bet, the airstrike successfully eliminated Hassan Farhat, identified as the commander of Hamas’s western operations in Lebanon.

“Overnight, the army and Shin Bet conducted a targeted strike in the Sidon area, eliminating the terrorist Hassan Farhat,” the official statement said.
