Operation Sindoor Live Updates: ‘Now choice is with Pakistan’, says foreign secy Vikram Misri on de-escalation
The choice regarding de-escalation rests with Pakistan, as they initiated the escalation through the Pahalgam terror attack, to which India responded via Operation Sindoor, stated foreign secretary Vikram Misri during a media briefing, amidst growing tensions between both nations.
Misri noted that the escalation originated from Pakistan’s side with the April 22 Pahalgam attack, resulting in 26 casualties, predominantly tourists.
“Our approach is not to escalate the situation, we only responded to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack,” he said.
Regarding the situation’s de-escalation, Misri stated, “Pakistan escalated the situation, we only responded. Choice is with Pakistan.”
