UAE announces Eid Al Fitr 2025 holidays for private sector employees

Dubai Announces Eid Al Fitr Holidays for Private Sector Employees

Private sector employees in Dubai and across the UAE will enjoy a paid holiday for Eid Al Fitr from Sunday, March 30, until Tuesday, April 1, as confirmed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) on March 18.

If Ramadan lasts 30 days, the holiday will extend to Wednesday, April 2, providing a five-day weekend for employees. The final decision depends on the Shawwal Moon sighting, which will be observed on March 29.

Potential Eid Al Fitr Holiday Break in Dubai:

If the crescent is sighted on March 29 → Holidays from March 30 – April 1 (4-day break: Saturday – Tuesday)

If Ramadan completes 30 days → Holidays from March 31 – April 2 (5-day break: Saturday – Wednesday)

According to Dubai Astronomy Group, Ramadan is expected to last 30 days, meaning residents will likely enjoy an extended five-day holiday.

Eid Travel Surge in Dubai

With the long weekend approaching, Dubai residents are making travel plans, favoring luxury experiences and family-friendly destinations over traditional getaways.

Airfares on popular routes have surged by 15-20%

Hotel rates have increased by 20-30% due to peak demand

All-inclusive packages are now a budget-friendly choice for holidaymakers.

Dubai’s unified holiday policy ensures public and private sector employees receive equal breaks, making this Eid Al Fitr a perfect time for travel, staycations, or festive celebrations across the city.
