In celebration of UAE National Day, Sharjah has announced two days of free public parking on December 2 and 3, with paid parking resuming on Wednesday, December 4. However, fees will still apply in specific paid parking zones that remain active throughout the week, including public holidays. These areas can be identified by the blue information signs.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) also confirmed free parking across the emirate from December 2 to December 3, excluding multi-storey parking facilities. With Sunday, December 1, already a fee-free day, this creates a three-day free parking window for residents and visitors.
Most residents will enjoy a four-day weekend for Eid Al Etihad this year, with December 2 and 3 declared paid holidays for both the public and private sectors. Additionally, all private schools, nurseries, and universities in Dubai will be closed during these dates, resuming regular classes on December 4.
The UAE celebrates its National Day, now referred to as Eid Al Etihad, on December 2 to commemorate the formation of the Emirates’ unification in 1971. This year marks the 53rd anniversary of the historic event.
The official Eid Al Etihad ceremony will be held in Al Ain, known for its breathtaking natural landscapes. The grand event, attended by the nation’s Rulers and leaders, will be live-streamed, allowing Dubai residents to witness the celebrations from various public zones across the city.
With a host of cultural events, fireworks, and public festivities planned across Dubai, residents are encouraged to take advantage of the free parking and enjoy the extended weekend while adhering to traffic and safety regulations.
