Dubai Weather Update: Fog Alerts and Weekend Forecast
Dubai and the UAE are expected to experience fair to partly cloudy weather today, with low clouds appearing over northern and coastal areas, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
Fog Alerts in Dubai and Abu Dhabi
The NCM has issued red and yellow alerts for dense fog affecting vast parts of Dubai and Abu Dhabi during the early morning hours. Residents are urged to check affected areas and plan accordingly.
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has shared safety tips on X, advising motorists to:
- Drive slowly and use fog lights.
- Maintain a safe distance from other vehicles.
Similarly, Abu Dhabi Police has urged caution, reminding drivers of reduced visibility caused by fog.
Rainfall Observations
While heavy rainfall was reported in areas such as Yas Island and Ramhan Island in Abu Dhabi, as well as Al Salama in Umm Al Quwain on Thursday, no rain is forecast for today.
Humidity and Wind Conditions
The NCM predicts humid conditions by night and into Saturday morning, with light to moderate northeasterly to northwesterly winds blowing at speeds of 10-25 km/hour, occasionally reaching 35 km/hour.
Sea Conditions
The Arabian Gulf is expected to have moderate to slight seas, while the Oman Sea will remain slight.
