Despite heavy pre-monsoon rains disrupting air travel in several Indian cities, flights between Dubai and India continue to operate as scheduled. UAE-based airlines, including Emirates, Etihad, and flydubai, have confirmed that their operations remain unaffected by the adverse weather conditions currently impacting parts of India.
Over the past few days, severe rainfall has caused delays and diversions of both international and domestic flights at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Indian media reported that on Wednesday evening, several flights bound for Delhi were either halted or rerouted due to the bad weather.
Cities such as New Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, and Goa have been hit by a wave of heavy rains and thunderstorms as part of the country’s pre-monsoon season. However, these conditions have not disrupted flight operations between Dubai and Indian airports, according to airline spokespersons in the UAE.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Bengaluru, warning of continued rainfall and potential weather disruptions until May 27. The alert signifies the likelihood of significant impact, advising residents to remain cautious. Tragic reports have also emerged, including three rain-related deaths in Bengaluru and another three in Tamil Nadu, according to local news sources.
Despite these developments, travelers flying from Dubai to India can rest assured that their flights are currently proceeding as planned. Passengers are, however, advised to stay updated with the latest airline and airport announcements, especially when traveling to cities in India currently under weather alerts.
This update serves as a relief for the large Indian expat community in Dubai, many of whom frequently travel between the UAE and various destinations in India. As the monsoon season approaches, travelers are encouraged to monitor both weather and flight updates to avoid last-minute inconveniences.
